I. Our Process
This event is open to any and all participants in the corresponding graduation years. The pride of Showcase Lacrosse is our process. We collect both an Application as well as a Nomination from the athlete's high school or club coach. This allows us to learn about the player through their highlight film, in addition to gauging their abilities from the perspective of a coach. We then review all Application/Nominations and send emails with instructions to register. If the selections from the prior round of the Draft do not register before the dates below, their spot will no longer be guaranteed. This is a first come, first-serve basis registration.
II. Invitation Dates
Invitations will be sent out on a bi/monthly basis according to the following schedule:
Round 1: April 25, 2019 / Round 2: May 30, 2019 / Round 3: June 27, 2019 / Round 4: July 25, 2019
We have three evaluators watching every game. The evaluators are simply given a list of players and numbers and are not given any information about where a player is from or who they play for. The evaluators are not stat-counting, but rather grading the players on the skills and attributes needed to be a successful college lacrosse player. At the end of the morning session, we run all the numeric grades through our program to select the All-Stars.
This highly competitive event attracted 186 college coaches from 144 different schools. 53 Division I, 14 Division II, and 70 Division III schools populated the sidelines to watch 2020, 2021, and 2022 recruiting classes. 31 colleges brought multiple staff members including Denver, University of Massachusetts, Penn State, Villanova, Delaware, University of Pennsylvania, Dartmouth, and more. The reigning 2018 NCAA Divison I Lacrosse Champions, Yale University was also onsite recruiting their future Bulldogs. Bill Tierney, Head coach of the University of Denver and seven-time NCAA Division I Lacrosse National Champion Head Coach, was present at United Sports for both the Showcase and Invitational. At one point throughout the day, over 70 coaches lined Field 1 in the afternoon giving players maximum exposure to the recruiters while competing against some of the top high school talent in the country.
Next Level Video is our exclusive video provider for this event. Games will be professionally filmed in HD from an elevated angle and several game film and highlight reel packages are available. Highlight reels are important to any high school student looking to be recruited by a college coach.
