JOB DESCRIPTION
NXT is seeking a certified athletic trainer to oversee safety policy, operations, and logistics for the safety and protection of all participants and employees. The athletic trainer will primarily be responsible to the planning, coordination, and execution of medical care plan for practices, camps, and large-scale lacrosse tournaments. This position will begin on August 5, 2019 and last through July 2020 with the possibility of continuing.
Responsibilities for the position will include:
- Creation and maintenance of emergency action plans
- Ensure proper staffing of athletic trainers to work events, camps, and practices
- Packing of medical supplied for events, camps, and practices
- Leading the healthcare team at local events (requires weekend work)
- Post-event follow-up for major injuries, if any
- Oversight of the emergency weather alert system
- Safety policy review, creation, and implementation
- Management of the safety initiative budget
- Arrange for CPR and AED training for new employees
Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work
This position is a Part-Time exempt position. Duties will take approximately 20 hours per week during NXT’s busy events season (which consists of June/July and November), and approximately 6-8 hours per week during the rest of the year. Must be able to work weekends, night and holidays as needed.
Candidates must possess the following:
- BOC certification and Pennsylvania licensure
- CPR Certification
- PA Act 153 Clearances
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Bachelor’s or entry-level master’s degree from an accredited college or university
