The Boys Philly Freshman Showcase takes place this Saturday, November 18th, 2017 at United Sports in Downingtown, Pa. The Boys Philly Freshman Showcase parallels the Boys Philly Showcase, North America's premier recruiting event. This is a two-part event that features an individual player Showcase on Saturday and an elite club team competition on Sunday. All players in the Saturday event are divided up and placed on teams coached by established coaches from some of the top high school programs in the area.

In 2016, a total of 187 college coaches signed in during the weekend. Approximately 90 percent of the nation’s 70 Division I programs attended the Philly Showcase Saturday to evaluate talent, and more than 20 Division 1 programs sent multiple members of their staff. Every team in last year's Division 1 NCAA Quarterfinals was represented in Downingtown.

With thousands of applications from players across the country, top freshman players were selected to compete in the individual event. As these freshmen conclude their first major recruiting period, it’s crucial for them to make an impact on these college coaches. They will have a huge platform with hundreds of coaches watching, so they better make it count!

With the new recruiting rules, college coaches emphasize the importance of freshmen to continue to reach out to them via email with their upcoming schedules and highlight reels. Although they cannot contact the 2021’s, they are still watching! Featured below are four players to look out for this Saturday.

MASON LAZASZ | MIDFIELD | 2021
HHH • La Salle College High School, PA

Lazasz is a stud between the lines and extremely athletic. He’s the go-to on the team to push a fast break, beat his defender, and rip one from the outside. Once Mason gets a step on his defender, he’s winding up for a hard shot. His stick skills make it easy for him to fake, roll dodge, and burn anyone standing in his way. If Lazasz continues his intensity of play throughout his high school career, he will be sure to turn some heads.

Representing Texas, Landin comes in as a tall, fast, lefty/ambidextrous midfielder. This is not his first time at one of NXT’s showcases - he played in the NXT Philly Summer Showcase and participated in the All-Star game. Speed is the name of his game. From his explosive 1v1 dodges to his fake-outs with his stick, Reed is a shifty midfielder that every defender hates. Aside from his speed, he’s able to move quickly off-ball to create plays for his teammates. His head is always up and he’s always moving.

Tri State • Wayne Hills, NJ

Daly has an immediate presence between the pipes when the whistle blows. He’s already been recognized as an All-Star in the 2017 Baltimore Showcase and is expected to put on another show this Saturday. Dan is a workhorse and it shows with his footwork, stick skills and speed when he comes out of the cage. His reflexes are undeniable and he’s quick to release the ball out of his stick, or just run it himself. Daly is going to challenge a lot of attackers' ability to hit the net this Saturday.

He's very comfortable with his stick and plays hard every shift. Charlie has the ability to pick up the ball quickly off the ground the first time he gets it. Moses is confident in his play and does not back down in any situation. Charlie executes on his 1v1 plays and is quick to slide to help his teammates.
