2020 Hype Night Recap

The coaches demanded a lot of the 162 players over three nights at Hype Night camp. The expectations were set high, the players were challenged, and the hustle was real. The level of competition is a credit to the professional coaches and to the players from 39 different clubs.

Our slogan at NXT is “more than a club.”The Hype Night experience is not about the NXT club.  The experience is rather about gathering the most talented boys and girls and challenging them to get out of their comfort zone. Teaching them to respect the game, that it’s healthy to make friends with players from different clubs, and to train together with a common goal of self-improvement.

One of the goals of Hype Night is to educate the players on work ethic. The coaches on staff understand the importance of this life skill. It’s not about talent but rather it is about hard work, hustle, and some sweat. It doesn’t hurt to have talent but the key ingredient to success in lacrosse, academics, and life is the willingness to set goals and work for them. This is why each night and at the conclusion of camp we reward the hardest workers with the Hype Night Hustler awards provided by our sponsor Nike.

Each night at camp we named a top hustler from each grad year and at the conclusion of camp named a Starting Lineup. Congratulations to our 2020 Starting Line Up for boys & girls. These players exemplified hustle, coachability, and work ethic.
