2020 Phila Stars Recap

Year three of the Phila Stars program powered by NXT produced the most talented roster yet. Twenty-one players from the class of 2021 were selected from eight different clubs to join forces on this senior all-star team. They trained weekly and competed in three fall events including the Delaware Invitational, NAL, and Philly Invitational.

Multiple players made their commitments during the fall season while others that already committed wanted to continue to compete and improve. Six players remain uncommitted and are still looking for the school that is the right fit academically and athletically.

Coaching and leadership was provided by Nick Taylor (Head Coach Haverford College), Paul Mita (Head Coach Arcadia University), and Kevin Kohout (Head Coach DelVaI University). The coaches think it’s important to acknowledge and tell the story of these players. Too often players commit or get to their senior year and take their foot off the gas. These players showed up weekly, trained, improved, and got to measure themselves against some of the best clubs in the country. “We really enjoyed working with this group of young men and wish them success in the remainder of their senior year”, said Nick Taylor.

The Stars training continues in January & February with NLA Committed training at Main Line Sports Center. Position-specific training sessions run by college coaches designed to help players prepare for a memorable senior spring season.
