The 13th annual Nike Boys Philly Showcase and Boys Philly Invitational were hosted last weekend in Downingtown, PA. After a Covid stricken 2020 version of the event saw limited college coaches, teams, and players due to various restrictions it was a sight for sore eyes this weekend to see the sidelines once again packed full of college coaches.
Teams and players traveled from as far as California and British Columbia to compete this weekend. Canada was well represented on both days but especially well represented in the Nike Boys Philly Showcase All-Star game as seven Canadians were selected.
This collection of talent attracted some of the nation's top programs. Over the two days, 195 coaches representing 110 programs were in attendance including 40 Division I programs.
Highlighting the group of Division I coaches was seven-time national champion, Bill Tierney of Denver, 2012 National Champion, Charley Toomey of Loyola, Penn State Head Coach, Jeff Tambroni, and USA U21 Assistant and Head Coach at Lafayette, Pat Myers.
Salisbury, Tufts, Cabrini, and Wesleyan - who represent eight of the last ten DIII champions - highlighted the list of DIII schools in attendance. Reigning DII champions Le Moyne was also in attendance.
