2024 Player Preview

The 13th annual Nike Boys Philly Showcase takes place Saturday at United Sports in Downingtown, PA. Widely regarded as North America's top individual recruiting event, the Nike Boys Philly Showcase is expected to welcome 650+ athletes from the class of 2025, 2024, 2023, and 2022.

Below are a few players to keep an eye out for in the class of 2023 - and what they're listening to pregame! 

Gage Frickenschmidt (M) 
Westlake High School | Iron Horse

Add Gage to the list of super talented midfielders on Saturday. However, the difference between Frickenschmidt and the rest of the players on that list is his lacrosse IQ. He is playing the midfield position at a very mature level and his decision-making has everything to do with it. He’ll draw two and quickly find the open guy, he’ll backdoor cut a defender at the perfect time. Pair that with his natural ability and you have one of the top midfielders at the Showcase.

Jack Combs (D) 
Holy Trinity Academy | Nationals LC 

Jack Combs is a PLAYMAKER. He is always looking for the next big play. Whether that be a big takeaway check, a 60-yard headman pass, or pushing transition himself, Combs is looking to make a difference. The showcase format is a perfect stage for Combs to shine as he did this past summer at the Philly Summer Showcase earning an All-Star nod. Look for him to turn a few heads.

Asa Beach (M)
Darien High School | Eclipse

Scrappy is the word we would use to describe Asa Beach. He is always fighting to make the next play. He fights to get his hands free on shots, pick up that GB on the crease, and he is a relentless defender. The athletic Eclipse product plays high school ball for national power Darien in Connecticut.

Paxton Marshall (A) 
Victor HS | 3D Upstate

Low to high will go with Marshall! The lefty sniper is a pure scorer. Along with his rocket of a shot, Marshall also has a quick first step allowing him to be a dodging threat from the wing and make any over-pursuing defender pay. We’re looking forward to seeing Marshall play on Saturday.
