Boys Philly Summer Showcase 2018: 2022 Player Preview

Top high school players nationwide have been selected to compete this Friday, July 13th. Featured are 2022 players to keep an eye on throughout this one-day event

The Boys Philly Summer Showcase attracts elite talent and college coaches from across the country to one of the top venues on the east coast, United Sports in Downingtown, PA. Last year's Boys Philly Summer Showcase attracted 320 athletes and 58 college coaches from the Division l, ll, and lll level.

With a 5:1 player to coach ratio, the athletes will be able to maximize their exposure to college coaches. Each team will be lead by an NCAA college coach throughout the entire day. The showcase will feature athletes from 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 graduation years.

After a competitive selection process, top high school players nationwide have been selected to compete this Friday, July 13th, pairing with one of the largest high school recruiting events on Saturday and Sunday, the Boy Philly Summer Invitational. Featured below are four of the top 2022 lacrosse players that Brett Manney has selected as player previews for this year's summer showcase.

BOYS PHILLY SUMMER SHOWCASE: 2022 PLAYER PREVIEWS

William Rose (2022) || 2017 Summer Lacrosse Highlights

WILLIAM ROSE | DEFENSE | 2022
BBL Black • Seton Hall Prep (West Orange, NJ)

Rose is a quick defenseman with solid stick skills. He has a strong lacrosse IQ level, which results in perfectly-timed slides along with high interception and caused turnover numbers. As a defender, he is quick between the lines and is not afraid to take it to the cage on the offensive end. Don’t sleep on him in the midfield or he will make his mark on the scoreboard.  I also love his respect for Chick-Fil-A.

NICKNAME: Lil’ Rosey
FAVORITE TV SHOW: Sportscenter
BIGGEST PET PEEVE: Slow slides
PREGAME RITUAL: Chick-Fil-A and a good stretch
SUPERPOWER: Laser vision
ANIMAL: Grizzly Bear - nobody charges a Grizzly Bear
HASHTAG: #clampgod

DellVidunasLaxHilights2016 2017

DELL VIDUNAS | ATTACK | 2022
Richmond Hawks • Douglas Freeman High School

Vidunas has proven himself to be a threat anywhere on the offensive end. He has great range and is a crafty finisher from the inside. Dell moves the ball quickly and keeps his head up to find his teammates for the assist.

Max Melton 2017 Summer Lacrosse Highlights

MAX MELTON | ATTACK | 2022
Texas Mustangs • Culver Military Academy (Dallas, TX)

Coming all the way from Texas, Melton is a strong lefty attackman that loves to work from X. He is a scrappy player and ruthless on the ride. On the crease, Max is a finisher in every sense of the word and loves to surprise the goalie with his off-angle, sometimes no-look, shots. I'm looking forward to seeing he's progressed since watching him this fall.

CLAY ALMGREN | ATTACK 2022
Legends West • Eastside High School (Woodinville, WA)

Don’t let the size of Almgren fool you. He is agile and tenacious attackman who works though X with both his right and left hand. Representing the West, all the way from Washington, Clay will test some of the top defenders from the East Coast this Friday.
