The 2018 Girls Philly Invitational was held this past weekend at United Sports in Downingtown, PA. The Girls Philly Invitational attracted 32 nationwide college coaches to the event to watch players compete during the intense one-day event.
At this elite event, 32 DI, DII, and DIII schools populated the sidelines to watch 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 teams take the field. Included in the line-up was US Lacrosse National Hall of Fame and National Lacrosse League Hall of Fame inductee, Gary Gait, D1 head coach of Syracuse University. 20 of the 32 coaches were DI coaches with 11 of them being head coaches.
Over 1,000 players were in attendance with some traveling as far as New Hampshire and California. Questionable fields from the previous night's storms canceled many surrounding events but the Girls Philly Invitational went on as planned with no divisions dropped or shortened games. With maximum exposure to the scouts, players had the opportunity to compete against some of the country's most competitive club teams.
