NXT LC Girls 2020 High School Preview

NXT Girls Lacrosse Division was founded in the fall of 2015 under the directorship of former NCAA Division I head coach turned club director, Kate Henwood. Four years later, Coach Henwood has now become an Executive Vice President at NXT, and has since turned the reins over to three impressive hires, all with DI coaching experience. It has come as no surprise that NXT Girls Lacrosse has quickly emerged as a Philadelphia Powerhouse, and now boasts a fourteen team portfolio from 2020-2029 graduation years.

Leading the Club as the Director and Recruiting Advisor, is Candace Taglianetti Bossell, a former decade long NCAA DI head coach, two-time Conference Coach of the Year, and former two-sport athlete from The Ohio State University.  Serving alongside her is Club Coordinator, Jessi Lieb Martin, a former DI assistant, US Lacrosse & IWLCA All-American, Tewaaraton Nominee and former US National Team Member from Penn State University. The most recent hire to NXT LC, Laurie Tortorelli DeLuca, is a former club director and owner herself, long-time NCAA DI assistant and an IWLCA All-American and legendary Goalkeeper from the University of Delaware!

There is instant chemistry for this squad, as they have all teamed up before.  Coach Bossell was the Head Coach for 10 years at Coach Henwoods alma mater, La Salle.  Coach Martin then served on her staff as a defensive coordinator. Coach DeLuca and Coach Bossell have been teammates and life-long friends since the 6th grade!

The 2020 class was our first-ever recruitable grad year and wasted no time plotting their futures.  With commitments made to Princeton, Boston, Rutgers, Towson, Mercer, Coastal Carolina, Duquesne, Kennesaw State, Old Dominion, and West Chester; this group helped to put NX LC on the coaches recruiting radar.

Our NXT 2021 squad has speed, athleticism, and grit, with many players showing DI caliber talent.  Under the leadership of former DI head coach, Candace Taglianetti Bossell, the culture of the team has evolved into one with a relentless work ethic and a real pride in the ride!  Five players are currently committed, so there is plenty of talent remaining!
