NXT Announces New Level Nine Tournament for Freshmen Class

Philadelphia, PA -  New to the fall 2019 lineup of high school events, NXTsports unleashed Level Nine, a freshmen-only one-day event hosted at a five-turf facility.

Kate Henwood, Executive VP of Girls Lacrosse at NXT, and her team noticed the need for a better option for freshmen club teams during the 3rd weekend of November and were ready to answer the call. “The top club directors in the country loved the idea when we pitched it allowing us to sell out the day we opened registration. We invited a small list to register for a VIP experience of the best competition,” said Henwood.

Clubs registered to attend include M&D, Steps Elite, Skywalkers, Capital, CT Grizzlies, Monster, Ultimate, Top Guns, Mass Elite, Philly Blast, Carolina Fever, West Chester Elite, Aim, Snipers, T3, HOCO, Coppermine, Liberty, 3D and NXT LC ensuring the highest level of competition for the 2023s. A championship game will determine the best in the country and bragging rights as the freshmen head into high school recruiting.

“Being a freshman in this day and age is exciting. You are the new kids on the block trying to make a name for yourself and your program. Level Nine is going to give the top 32 teams in the nation the opportunity and stage to do just that. We went with a logo that has a videogame-feel to have these players and teams understand that they are now at the next level, Level Nine. ” said NXT Director of Girls of Events, Danielle Kirk.

Athletes will play at the Proving Grounds in Conshohocken. With five-turf fields, scoreboards, field coordinators, and high-ranked officials, this event will allow players to compete in a truly elite event.  "The Proving Grounds is an intimate venue that we know very well because NXT club teams have practiced there since 2015. Over four short years, we have watched this state-of-the-art facility transform into the perfect venue for an elite and selective lacrosse event like Level Nine,” said Henwood.

Registration for Level Nine is currently closed at a sold-out capacity but NXT is looking forward to growing this event in the years to come.
