Myers Brothers to Lead NXT Southern MBX Showcase & Training Camp

Philadelphia, PA -- NXT is excited to announce a collaborative project with Myers Brothers Lacrosse (MBX) under which NXT will power operations for the Fall Southern MBX Showcase & Training Camp. NXT, the nation’s leading lacrosse event management company, will take over all off-field aspects of event operations effective immediately. Both recently named to the Team USA U19 staff, the Myers brothers will develop the curriculum and lead the on-field coaching efforts.

MBX is jointly operated by Ohio State head men’s lacrosse coach, Nick Myers, and Lafayette head men’s lacrosse coach, Pat Myers. This partnership melds the on-field expertise of two prominent Division I coaches and the event management experience of NXT and promises to create a tremendous participant experience.

The inaugural Southern MBX Showcase & Training Camp will take place on October 25-27, 2019 in suburban Atlanta. October 25-26, the middle school training camp will provide 80 middle school players the opportunity to compete and learn from the best coaches in the game. By separating the middle school players into the training camp option it ensures they get a 100% attention of the staff for maximum player engagement. 180 high school players will get education and exposure to college coaches at the Showcase event on October 26-27.

The coaching staff will be made up exclusively of NCAA Division I, II, and III coaches. Players will experience college-style positional drilling, a recruiting talk, team practices run by current college coaches, and the opportunity to compete and be evaluated. The event is open to any all boys lacrosse players in grades 7-12 and registration will open on March 15.

Said Ohio State head coach Nick Myers, “Both Pat and I are thrilled to have this one of a kind opportunity to teach the game we love along side some of the very best coaches college lacrosse has to offer. Lacrosse has exploded with growth in the South and we are seeing more high-end talent coming out of this region than ever before! The NXT Southern MBX Showcase event will be like no other offered before in the south. The level of instruction, execution, and competition will be elite. We look forward to coaching and highlighting the very best players this region has to offer.”

“We are elated to be involved with the Myers brothers,” said NXT President, Peter Lawrence. “NXT will create a first class experience and allow this world-class staff, led by Nick and Pat, to focus on player development.”

NXT is headquartered in Philadelphia and manages a portfolio of more than 40 boys and girls lacrosse tournaments and recruiting events all over the nation. For questions about the event, or to register, please contact NXT’s VP of Event Sales and Recruiting, Brett Manney, at brett@nxtsports.com.
