Mike Birnbaum

Director of Boys Goalies

Mike grew up in Sparta, NJ where he started playing lacrosse and competing as a goalie in fifth grade.  Mike attended Sparta High School and was the starting goalie for his junior and senior seasons, graduating in 2008.  Mike went on to play DIII lacrosse at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA where he was named the starter at the beginning of his sophomore season.  In a time of desperation, Moravian College ended up cutting the Men’s and Women’s Varsity Lacrosse programs.  Heading into his junior season, Mike and a teammate created the Moravian College Lacrosse Club.  The Greyhounds enjoyed much success in the NCLL by capturing two Eastern PA Division titles and advanced to two elite eights and one final four.  Mike was selected to first-team Eastern PA in both seasons and was elected to first team All-NCLL in his junior season.

After graduating Moravian, in 2012, Mike spent a year playing and coaching in England as a part of the English Lacrosse Association exchange program.  His main focuses were coaching the Oxford University Men’s Lacrosse team and acting as a player-coach for the Reading Wildcats in the English Premier League.  Upon returning to the states, Mike continued to coach for LB3 and was the goalie director of Lacrosse Evolution.

Mike serves as our Director of Goalies and will work to individually develop every goalie in our youth and high school practices. He is also available for and passionate about private training.
