Coach Hayes is the 2024 V HC as he starts his 3rd year at NXT and brings decades of lacrosse experience as a player, referee and coach. He played HS varsity football and lacrosse on Long Island, NY (Lynbrook HS). He played varsity lacrosse and was a four-year letter winner at the U. S. Naval Academy played close defense and started as the face off specialist freshman year. While waiting for his flight school spot, he coached back at Navy. While in the service, and not flying helicopters, he played club level lacrosse across the country (VA, FL, CO, GA, CA) and was voted MVP in two tournaments as a midfielder (Peach State Tournament, GA and Vail Lacrosse Shootout, CO). He also played a year professionally in the MILL as part of the Baltimore Thunder. While stationed in DC, he coached boys HS lacrosse in Virginia for two years and then became a referee. Hayes coached girls lacrosse in New Jersey, and is a founder of the Ocean County Girls Lacrosse Club where his daughter played. Hayes retired from the military and now works in the unmanned aircraft industry.
