Our coaches know the game. They have experience playing in college, playing professionally, coaching high school, coaching at the collegiate level as well as having backgrounds as teachers and educators.
Our mission when a family joins our club is to mentor every player on decision-making skills, how to embrace challenges, to be humble in victory and display sportsmanship in defeat. Our passionate coaches encourage them to work hard at the fundamentals, to get the next one, to stay positive, have great body language and to be a great teammate. Players will learn the value of hard work, to be coachable and compete against the best. We provide training year round in order to assist players in achieving their goals. The end result of this commitment is to have made great friends, made great memories and developed into well rounded student-athletes.
Our club teams develop and challenge elite players who are committed to lacrosse year-round.
At the high school and youth levels, we have one team per grade. At the middle school level, NXT fields two teams per grade. This creates optimum training and gameday experiences.
** NXT fields club teams in compliance with US Lacrosse segmentation policies. All NXT youth players must be US Lacrosse members and must complete the US Lacrosse verification process.
Our five-step approach to the total lacrosse player:
1. Fundamentals Building our foundation by training relentlessly year-round
2. Team Strategies Playing an essential role within a team system
3. Position-specific Skills, knowledge and strategies
4. Decision Making Small-sided games and fast-paced scenarios
5. Intangibles Leadership, hustle, coachability, competitive spirit, and being an energy raiser
We offer family meetings to all of our NXT middle school and high school players to track their academic progress and support them in short- and long-term goal setting.
Not only do our team-specific coaches support each player on and off the field, but our NXT families also have access to Bill Leahy, our Director of College Guidance.
It's important to us to help our athletes have readily available information to them regarding the committment process as they progress in their career. This year, we started our first recruiting night where we highlighted best practices for DI, DII, and DIII and featured NXT Lacrosse Club, Duke's Lacrosse Club, and Headstrong Foundation. Filmed by NLV Productions, you can watch the entire recruiting night here.
