2024 Nike Boys Philly Showcase Player Preview
2024 Player Preview
The 14th annual Nike Boys Philly Showcase takes place Friday & Saturday at Capelli Sports Complex in Tinton Falls, NJ. Widely regarded as North America’s top individual recruiting event, the Nike Boys Philly Showcase is expected to welcome 650+ athletes from the class of 2026, 2025, and 2024.
The class of 2026 will compete on Friday, and the 2024s and 2025s will compete on Saturday.
Below are a few players to keep an eye out for in the class of 2024 – and what they’re listening to pregame!
Gunnar Anderson (M) 2024
LI Express | Cold Spring Harbor
Gunnar Anderson is the complete midfielder coming from Long Island, NY. This all-star from 2021 is a big body that loves to dodge downhill fast against his defenders. He can go either hand to get his team on the board. His physicality allows him to be a great two-way midfielder and play team defense. Gunnar looks to be a matchup nightmare for smaller defenders at this year’s Showcase.
Pregame playlist:
1) Outkast – Hey Ya!
2) Coldplay – Viva La Vida
3) Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody
4) Redbone – Come And Get Your Love
5) Empire Of The Sun – Walking On A Dream
Sebastian Rzecycki (A) 2024
SouthShore | Princeton Day School
Sebastian Rzecycki is very smooth around the crease and always looks for the best angles to take his shots. This Atlantic Showcase All-Star is one of those kids that can create for himself but is also looking to get his teammates involved throughout games. Rzecycli can go either hand in any situation, which makes him a threat all over the offensive end of the field. Excited to see Sebastion Rzecycki ball out at Showcase this Saturday.
Pregame playlist:
1) Tory Lanez – Shooters
2) Young Thug & Meek – That Go!
3) I Am – Lil Baby & Gunna
4) Drake & 21 Savage – Jimmy Cooks
5) Jay-Z – Run This Town
Giacomo Bevacqua (M) 2024
Lakers Futures | Mountain Lakes
Giacomo Bevacqua is one of those guys that loves to get to the middle of the field and shoot the rock. He never fades away from contact and is always making most of the second-chance opportunities around the net. Whether that is a rebound or a chance to ride the ball. His high motor is what fuels offenses that he plays in. An unreal short-stick defender, Giacomo Bevacqua, will be someone to watch on the stat sheet at Showcase.
Joey Wood (M) 2024
Koopers | McDonogh
Righty midfielder Joey Wood is all over the field when he steps between the lines. He has a righty hammer and finds the back of the net with ease. Wood’s athleticism allows him to get up and down the field quickly and push transition. Along with being able to ride the ball back through the midfield to give his team another possession. Looking forward to seeing Joey Wood perform this weekend at Showcase.
Ronan Schipani (LSM) 2024
Boston Kings | Tabor Academy
Ronan Schipani is one of the top defenders at the Showcase, with the ability to push in transition. The former All-Star is a very crafty player with great stick skills. Schipani’s vision allows him to intercept passes with ease and the anticipation of his slides is something any team would be lucky to have. Lastly, he has a knack for the ball and is always looking to scrap for a big-time groundball. Excited to see what Ronan Schipani brings to the table come Showcase Saturday.
